A Special Birthday

I think my brother is at work.

Desmond's birthday is in 2 days - on Hari Raya!

We'll probably go somewhere nice for dinner. I'm thinking Sentosa, Brewerkz or Hog's Breath. He'll be taking the day off but I'll be working a couple of hours in the afternoon (Need to squeeze in as many sessions as possible so I'm working everyday. Went back for one session just now.)

I bought him his present today - a pair of white Birkenstocks for $109. He says he wouldn't have bought them on his own cos he doesn't like to spend so much on himself. I enjoy buying nice things for him :O)

Have been slightly more extravagent lately coz Arise and Build is starting soon and I keep thinking that if I want to spend, I better spend now cos I might not be able to spend so freely once the building fund starts.

Watched The Departed last night at Vivo City with Des and his frenz. Quite nice but I already knew the storyline from watching Infernal Affairs twice so it wasn't as exciting as it could have been. Still think Infernal Affairs is better though.

Actually, the main purpose of last night's gathering was to plan our Bangkok trip and celebrate Des's birthday. We'll be visiting quite a few attractions and shopping locations in Thailand - Dream World, Grand Palace, Lady Boy Show at Asia Hotel where we'll be staying, Floating Market, Suan Lum Night Market, Patpong, Chinatown, MBK, Chatuchat. Only 26 days to go and I'm really really looking forward to it :o)

Ran about 7 hours this week over three 2-hour sessions and one 60-minute session. Also squeezed in a shoulder circuit workout, a back/chest workout and 50 mins on the stepper over the week. I'm leaner already. Planning to slowly increase my running time by 15-30 minute each time I run, over the next couple of weeks until I can clock 5 hours.

I'm gauging that that will be the minimum amount of time I need to complete 42km. May buy a new pair of running shoes - the old Adizero from the Adidas Factory Outlet at Novena perhaps.
