Sophie Scholl

No photos of fireflies coz it was too dark to take photos and no photos of Desmond cos he doesn't like taking photos. Actually I did take a couple of photos of him and us but I'm not allowed to post them.

Watched Love Wreaked, worked out chest, triceps and core and ran outdoors for 50 minutes during my 5 and a half hour break yesterday. Kinda tired so I might just go for a swim later. I start work at 1 pm :o)

Haven't yet caught Sophie Scholl, a German film about this brave young girl who tried to resist the Nazi Regime during the cold war. It's only showing at Cineleisure twice a day now. Once at 1 plus and once during evening peak hour. The evening time is out for me so I might try to watch it tomorrow afternoon.

I like reading and watching films about the Cold War - like This Way to the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen (by Tadeusz Borowski), The Pianist and Schindler's List. Kinda interesting and scary to know how evil and mindless humans can get. Millions of Germans allowing themselves to be manipulated by Adolf Hitler, killing others to save their own skins. How does the world turn into a living nightmare overnight?

We're so lucky we don't have to worry about being in a similar situation. But sometimes I wonder what I would have done if I had lived during those times. Would I have been brave enough (like Sophie Scholl) to stand up for what I believe in? Or would I have behaved no differently from the other Nazi soldiers.

How can we be considered good if we have never been offered, and turned down an opportunity to do evil?
